How to Create a Professional vCard QR Code

In today's digital age, paper business cards are often impractical. A vCard (Virtual Contact File) QR code allows anyone to scan your code and instantly save your contact details to their phone. Here's how to do it professionally.

1. Choose the Right Data

Less is sometimes more. While vCard supports dozens of fields, we recommend sticking to the basics: name, phone, email, and a link to your website or LinkedIn. The more data you put into the code, the denser and harder to read it will be for older phones.

2. vCard Version Standards

There are several versions of vCard (2.1, 3.0, 4.0). PureQR uses the most compatible format to ensure your business card works on both iPhones (iOS) and Android devices without needing extra apps.

3. Design and Readability

While our generator allows you to change colors, we recommend maintaining high contrast for business cards (dark dots on a light background). If you're printing the code on a business card, make sure it's at least 0.8x0.8 inches (2x2 cm) in size.

4. Static vs. Dynamic Code

A static vCard code contains the data directly within itself. If you change your phone number, you have to reprint your cards. For businesses, we recommend our upcoming dynamic version, which allows you to update details without changing the code.
